And I’m sure we could not care any less – but here we are.
Social media is a fun place but sometimes a very dark environment where you will discover some very random useless facts – such as the fact that today is National Boyfriend Day.
You may wonder – what’s this day about? What do people do on this “special” day? Well, according to the national day calendar website:
Do something nice for your boyfriend today. Take him fishing or golfing or whatever his favorite activity is. Go out for dinner or to a movie. Whatever you choose to do, let him know you appreciate him. Use #NationalBoyfriendDay to post on social media and let the world know about your special guy!
Well this sounds very useless – in the sense that every day you should show your appreciation to your loved ones.
Also – if you worry about whether or not there is a National Girlfriend Day – well there is! Girlfriends get celebrated on August 1st.
So, I’m writing about this because I can’t believe there’s an actual day about this – I mean, who came out with the idea? Who in this world genuinely thought that this was a thing to celebrate?
On the website it said that apparently they would’ve come up with it because mothers and fathers have their own day. Well – in my mind this is a bit different. I think it’s nice to show appreciation to parents for raising us but why showing appreciation to a boyfriend or girlfriend?
As I said, show appreciation to your loved ones every day – there shouldn’t be a one special day for this in my opinion.
